Plus try the back computer USB plugs. They generally go directly to the mother board. User profile for user: 4phun 4phun. I just reinstalled Win 7 to make sure the OS was correct. I am using the original cable from Apple. I have tried disconnecting devices to see if there is a conflict.
I keep getting the warning the installation of the iPad drivers has failed. I tried deleting and reinstalling based on the mentioned support number mentioned at the beginning of this post. Right now I feel like giving the thing back to Apple. I can sit here with it plugged in an I can tell Windows is trying to contact it an install drivers, Win fails and then retries a few minutes later all over again.

Then all you have to do is reinstall iTunes which will add all of the above back all over again in the proper order.
