More like this. Watch options. Storyline Edit. With his reputation in tatters after the painfully unsuccessful delivery of a distinguished Japanese client, the former triple-A protection agent, Michael Bryce, is now reduced to a mere second-class bodyguard for hire, two years after the disgraceful incident.
Under those circumstances, Bryce would do anything to prove his worth, and, before long, he accepts an offer from Interpol to escort the international assassin, Darius Kincaid, from Manchester to the Hague. The task seems simple: Bryce needs to transport him from point A to point B; nevertheless, the trip to the Netherlands is long and hazardous, and Kincaid--as the only one with the guts and enough hard evidence to testify against a tyrannical Belarusian dictator--is an obvious target.
Undoubtedly, it's a tough job, as the mismatched duo will have to put aside their grudges, and race against the clock in a non-stop concerto for bullets. Can the hitman's bodyguard carry through the most important mission in his career? Everyone's out to get them If they don't kill each other first. Action Comedy Crime Thriller. Rated R for strong violence and language throughout.
Did you know Edit. Trivia The song that Kincaid and the nuns are singing together in the van much to Bryce's annoyance is a 19th-century Italian traditional drinking song named "Bevilo Tutto", which encourages everyone to 'drink it all up'. Goofs When Professor Asimov testified at the trial that Dukhovich killed his wife and child, Dukhovich's attorney objected that this was hearsay and the court granted the objection and excluded the testimony.
The testimony was not hearsay. Hearsay is testifying about what someone else said happened. Asimov was testifying about events that he directly witnessed and the testimony should have been allowed. Quotes Michael Bryce : This guy single-handedly ruined the word "motherfucker. Crazy credits At the end of the credits there's an outtake with Ryan Reynolds having to wait for church bells to stop ringing. User reviews Review. Top review. A Very Underrated Action Comedy. Plot: The world's top bodyguard gets a new client, a hit man who must testify at the International Court of Justice.
This is a very underrated action comedy, this is more of a throwback to 90s action comedies which I love to death. I just came out of the screening of this and can't wait to see it again and pay for it.
The story is well told and well written. Ryan Reynolds gives his best performance as Michael Bryce yes I like this more than Deadpool ,Samuel L Jackson gives one of his best performances in a long time, I was worried because I thought he would go overboard with his famous curse word but he didn't and I'm glad. The supporting cast are also very good especially Gary Oldman reprising his Air Force One performance but not as over the top, Elodie Yung who was very likable, and Salma Hayek who is just as funny as Jackson.
The action is mostly well handled especially the chase scenes which were very exciting and fun. The fight scenes were decent but they used too much shaky cam at times which are the main reason why I gave this an 8 and not a 9 along with them maybe cutting out 10 minutes but that's it. Overall, The Hit-man's Bodyguard is a very good and underrated action comedy that deserves to be seen if you're a fan of 90s action comedies because this is a love letter to them.
It has a good story, a good heart, mostly likable characters you can't say that Jackson is likable along with Hayek but that's the point. This is what I want Hollywood to make not a lot of the franchise movies, more movies like this which didn't need a big budget to be exciting. Go see it if you have a chance, you won't regret it.
